Sumner Locke Elliott was an Australian-born writer and actor who was born in Sydney on October 17, 1917. He was the son of writer Sumner Locke and journalist Henry Logan Elliott. Following his mother's death shortly after his birth, he was raised by his aunts, a period of his life that served as the basis for his autobiographical novel, Careful, He Might Hear You. Throughout his career, Elliott contributed to numerous television programs, including Way Out, Lights Out, Suspense, Studio One, The Philco Television Playhouse, DuPont Show of the Month, Producers' Showcase, Goodyear Television Playhouse, and Hedda Hopper's Hollywood. He was also hired to write the screenplay for the film adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Elliott died in Manhattan, New York City, on June 24, 1991.
