She was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, and is the daughter of renowned actor Biplab Ketan Chakraborty. She made her film debut with Bariwali in the year 2000, receiving a National award for her performance, specifically the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. Following her debut, she appeared in numerous films, including Mondo Meyer Upakhyan in 2002, Kalpurush in 2005, Hitlist in 2009, Nobel Chor, Half Serious, Goynar Baksho, and C/O Sir in 2013, Buno Haansh in 2014, Open Tee Bioscope and Rajkahini in 2015, and Arindam Sil's Dhananjoy in 2017 alongside Anirban Bhattacharya, Mimi Chakraborty, and Kanchan Mullick.
