Steven Soderbergh is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor. Born on January 14, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, he is a male director. Soderbergh's directorial breakthrough came with the indie drama Sex, Lies, and Videotape in 1989, which lifted him into the public spotlight. He became the youngest solo director to win the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival at the age of 26. Soderbergh is known for his work in directing and has 150 known credits. He is also known by several other names, including Peter Andrews, Mary Ann Bernard, and Sam Lowr.
