She is affiliated with the Himawari Theatre Group, which she joined at the age of three after being scouted while accompanying her sister. Wakayama developed an interest in voice acting during middle school, driven by her passion for video games. Throughout her education, she participated in various extracurricular activities, including an art club during high school and a light music circle in college where she served as a bassist.
