Shinji Aoyama (July 13, 1964 – March 25, 2022) was a Japanese male film director, screenwriter, composer, film critic and novelist. He was born in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan and graduated from Rikkyo University. Aoyama is credited with 67 works in the TMDB database, and his primary professional recognition is for directing. In 2000 his film Eureka received two awards at the Cannes Film Festival. He was also known by the stage name 青山真治.
