Sergey Bodrov Jr. was an actor, director, screenwriter, television presenter, and art historian. Born in Moscow on December 27, 1971, he was the son of writer, screenwriter, and director Sergei Bodrov Sr. He graduated from the History Department of Moscow State University with a degree in art history in 1993 and defended his thesis on architecture in Venetian Renaissance painting in 1998. He began his cinema career working in his father's films, starting with an episodic role in SIR / Freedom is Paradise in 1989, followed by a lead role in Prisoner of the Caucasus in 1996. He also presented the program Vzglyad on ORT from 1996 to 1999 and participated as a presenter in the Last Hero program on Channel One in 2001. He died on September 20, 2002 at the age of 30.
