Seiji Miyaguchi was a Japanese actor born in Tokyo, Japan on November 15, 1913. Known for his work in film, he appeared in 118 known credits throughout his career. His notable film roles included playing the master swordsman Kyuzo in Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, despite confessing that he had never handled a sword before taking on the role. He also appeared in Kurosawa's Ikiru as a yakuza boss from restaurant row, and in Masaki Kobayashi's Kwaidan. Seiji Miyaguchi passed away from lung cancer on April 12, 1985 at the age of 71.
