Samar Sami is an actress born in Homs, Syria, on June 15, 1960. Her father died when she was young, and she was raised by her mother and aunts. She entered the artistic field at a young age, beginning her career as a singer in Aleppo in 1974. In 1978, she decided to join the Artists Syndicate in Damascus. While at the Syndicate building, director Firdous Atassi saw her and cast her in a major role as a teenage girl in his series Midnight Dreams. When asked if she acted, she replied that she did not know how to act but wanted to experiment. Shortly after she finished filming, she caught the attention of Haitham Hakki.
