Samantha Ruth Prabhu is an Indian film actress and model who primarily works in the South Indian film industry. Born on April 28, 1987, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, she grew up in Pallavaram and pursued a brief stint in modeling while pursuing a degree in commerce during her late teens. Despite signing up for Ravi Varman's Moscowin Kavery in 2007, her first film release was the 2010 Telugu romance film Ye Maaya Chesave, directed by Gautham Menon. She has since appeared in various Telugu and Tamil films, establishing herself as a leading contemporary actress in Telugu cinema, with critically acclaimed and commercially successful titles including Brindavanam, Dookudu, Eega, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.
