Biography
Sam Neill is a New Zealand actor born on 14 September 1947 in Omagh, Northern Ireland. His parents were an English mother and a New Zealand-born father. In 1954, his family relocated to Christchurch, New Zealand, where he was raised and educated. Neill began his acting career in the 1970s and gained early recognition for his performance in the 1977 film Sleeping Dogs. He went on to take on leading roles in a wide range of films, including My Brilliant Career (1979), Omen III: The Final Conflict (1981), Possession (1981), Evil Angels (1988), Dead Calm (1989), and The Hunt for Red October (1990). Regarded as an international leading man, Neill is considered one of the most versatile actors of his generation.
