Biography
Ruth Alexandra Elisabeth Jones is a Welsh actress, comedian, writer, and producer born on 22 September 1966. She is recognized for co-writing and co-starring in the BBC sitcom Gavin and Stacey, which aired between 2007 and 2010, with additional episodes in 2019 and 2024. For this role, she won the BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy Performance in 2025. Jones also co-wrote and starred in the Sky One comedy-drama Stella from 2012 to 2017, earning nominations for the BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy Performance and the BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Screenwriter. Her other television appearances include roles in Fat Friends, Little Britain, Nighty Night, Saxondale, and The Street.
