Rosy Varte was a French actress of Armenian descent born as Nevarte Manouelian in Constantinople, Ottoman Empire. She emigrated to France at an early age and appeared in comedies, making almost one hundred film and television appearances since 1949. Her career included starring in the 1972 film The Bar at the Crossing, which entered the 22nd Berlin International Film Festival. She also worked as a voice actress in the cartoon Western movies Daisy Town in 1971 as Lulu Carabine and La Ballade des Dalton in 1978 as Miss Worthlesspenny. From 1985 to 1993, she played the title role of Maguy Boissier in the television series Maguy. She passed away on January 13, 2012, at the age of 88.
