Veronica Yvette Greenfield, known professionally as Ronnie Spector, was an American singer born on August 10, 1943, in Harlem, Manhattan, New York City, New York, and died on January 12, 2022, at the age of 78. She co-founded and fronted the girl group the Ronettes alongside her older sister, Estelle Bennett, and their cousin, Nedra Talley, in the late 1950s. The group signed with Phil Spector's Philles label in 1963, where he produced the majority of their recordings. Their 1960s hits included Be My Baby, Baby, I Love You, The Best Part of Breakin' Up, Do I Love You, and Walking in the Rain. She was sometimes called the original bad girl of rock and roll and later collaborated on a one-woman cabaret show titled Beyond the Beehive.
