Ronda Rousey
Biography
Ronda Jean Rousey is an American actress, professional wrestler, and former mixed martial artist and judoka. Born on February 1, 1987, she is recognized for her tenures in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and WWE. Rousey achieved historical significance as the first American woman to win an Olympic medal in judo, earning a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Although Lynn Roethke won a silver medal in the 1988 Olympics, that achievement was not counted toward the official United States medal count because women's judo was a demonstration sport at the time. Rousey began her professional mixed martial arts career with King of the Cage in 2011 and later joined Strikeforce, where she served as the organization's final Women's Bantamweight Champion.
