Biography
Robert Douglas Thomas Pattinson, born May 13, 1986, in London, England, is an English actor noted for his work in both big-budget and independent films. He began acting at age 15 in a London theatre club and made his film debut as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). Pattinson gained global recognition for portraying Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga film series (2008–2012), which achieved significant commercial success. His subsequent roles include performances in Remember Me (2010) and Water for Elephants (2011). He has also received critical acclaim for his work in independent cinema. Pattinson is the son of Richard Pattinson, a vintage car dealer, and Clare Pattinson, a model agency booker, and he grew up in Barnes, southwest London, with two older sisters.
