Robert Ralph Minkoff, also known as Robert R. Rob Minkoff, is an American filmmaker, director, animator, and producer. He was born on August 11, 1962, in Palo Alto, California, United States. He studied in the Character Animation department at the California Institute of the Arts in the early 1980s. Minkoff is best known for co-directing the Academy Award-winning animated feature The Lion King alongside Roger Allers for Walt Disney Feature Animation. His other directing credits include the Roger Rabbit shorts Tummy Trouble and Roller Coaster Rabbit, and live-action films such as Stuart Little, Stuart Little 2, The Haunted Mansion, and The Forbidden Kingdom. While working at Disney, he also wrote the song Good Company for Oliver and Company. He married Crystal Kung on September 29, 2007.
