Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Wilson was born on March 2, 1980, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She is an Australian actress, comedian, writer, and producer. After graduating from the Australian Theatre for Young People in 2003, she appeared as Toula in the Special Broadcasting Service comedy series Pizza, which ran from 2003 to 2007 and returned in 2019. She subsequently appeared in the sketch comedy series The Wedge from 2006 to 2007. In 2008, she wrote, produced, and starred in the musical comedy series Bogan Pride. The following year, she won the Tropfest best actress award for her role in Bargain and made a guest appearance in City Homicide. Shortly after moving to the United States, she appeared as Brynn in the 2011 feature film Bridesmaids.
