Prateik Smita Patil, formerly known as Prateik Babbar, is an Indian actor born on November 28, 1986, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is the son of the late actress Smita Patil and actor-politician Raj Babbar. His mother died due to complications in childbirth shortly after his birth, and he was subsequently raised by his maternal family. Before pursuing an acting career, he worked as a production assistant. On the recommendation of filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar, he appeared in television advertisements for various products, including Nestle KitKat, prior to his screen debut. Since beginning his career in Bollywood, he has received accolades including a Filmfare Award and a Stardust Award.
