Pierre Brasseur was a French actor born on December 22, 1905, in Paris, France. He was the son of actor Georges Espinasse and actress Germaine Brasseur, who was married to Albert Brasseur at the time of his birth. Brasseur's grandfather, Jules Brasseur, was also an actor. He is known for playing outsized characters, particularly in the semi-fictionalized portrayal of Frédérick Lemaître in the 1945 film Les Enfants du Paradis and as Docteur Génessier in the horror film Eyes. Brasseur's acting career spanned numerous roles, with 144 known credits. He passed away on August 16, 1972, in Bruneck, Italy.
