Phillip Terry was an American actor born as Frederick Henry Kormann on March 7, 1909, in San Francisco, California. He was the only child of German Americans Frederick Andrew Kormann and Ida Ruth Voll. He attended Stanford University, where his interest in theatre began. Following a brief stay in New York, he moved to London in 1933 to attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He subsequently spent four years touring British provinces performing stock theater. Upon returning to Hollywood, he worked for CBS Radio, performing in numerous on-air plays and specializing in Shakespearean roles. Terry passed away on February 23, 1993, at the age of 83.
