Philippe Caroit is a French actor, director, script adapter, writer, and painter born on September 29, 1959, in Paris. He is best known for his television and film roles, notably including appearances in R.I.S. Police Scientifique, Crimes Parfaits, and Les boeuf-carottes. Fluent in French, English, Spanish, Italian, and German, he has played more than 100 roles in French and foreign movies for cinema and television worldwide. His first cinema role was in the 1981 film The Aviator's Wife, directed by Éric Rohmer, followed by his television debut in the 1982 production Les ombres by Jean-Claude Brisseau. In 1999, he directed his first short film, Faire-part, and he later published his first novel, titled The Curse of the Snail.
