Ole Bornedal is a Danish film director, actor, and producer born on May 26, 1959, in Nørresundby, Denmark. He wrote and directed the 1994 thriller Nattevagten, also known as Nightwatch, about a law student working as a night-watchman in a morgue who becomes implicated in a series of murders of prostitutes. He subsequently directed an English-language remake of Nightwatch in 1997, which starred Ewan McGregor, Nick Nolte, and Patricia Arquette. In 2002, he directed I Am Dina. Bornedal was also one of the producers of Mimic, has directed many television movies, and has worked on producing and directing The Recovery.
