Nina Companéez was a French screenwriter and film director born on August 26, 1937, in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, France, and she died on April 9, 2015, at the age of 77. She was the younger daughter of Russian Jewish émigré screenwriter Jacques Companéez and the younger sister of contralto Irène Companeez. She was also the mother of actress Valentine Varela. Companéez was a long-time collaborator of Michel Deville and wrote for numerous films and television shows. Among her works as a director is the 1973 film L'Histoire très bonne et très joyeuse de Colinot Trousse-Chemise, also known as Sukničkář Colinot.
