His father is Sicilian and his mother is Anglo-Irish, and he has a younger sister named Claudia Marissa born in 1992. Beginning in February 2007, he was a student at the Manchester School of Acting. Mirallegro is known for playing the role of Barry Newt Newton in the British soap opera Hollyoaks from October 22, 2007, to June 25, 2010. While filming Hollyoaks, he also played Cam Spencer in the web series LOL and appeared in the short film Six Minutes of Freedom in July 2009. He has also become known for his work in My Mad Fat Diary, Last Tango in Halifax, and The Village.
