François-Alexandre Galepides was a French actor and jazz drummer of Greek descent who used the stage name Moustache. He was born in Paris on February 14, 1929, and died on March 25, 1987, in a car accident in Arpajon at the age of 58. He joined Claude Luter's orchestra as a drummer in 1948 and played in Saint-Germain-des-Prés clubs while regularly accompanying Sidney Bechet in France. Beginning in 1950, he led his own bands, including Les sept complices and Les gros minets. From 1956, with his group Moustache et ses Moustachus, he recorded rock and roll novelty songs as a drummer and singer, including Le Croque-Skull-Creux with a text by Boris Vian, and he later formed the group Les petits Français in 1978.
