Mohamed Majd was a Moroccan actor born in Casablanca, reported as 30 November 1939 by TMDB and as 1940 in other biographical sources. He began his performing career on stage in the late 1950s and, after a decade in theatre, moved to film, appearing first in short films directed by Abdelmajid R’chich. His early screen work included a role opposite Anthony Quinn in Moustapha Akkad’s historical epic The Message (1975). At age 47 he was selected by casting director Ahmed Boulane to act with John Hurt in the Richard Stroud film Deadline, and later appeared in Philippe de Broca’s The Thousand and One Nights (1989). Majd’s television debut came in 1965 with the series The Victim. He died on 25 January 2013 at the age of 73.
