Mikhail Sergeevich Boyarskiy is a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, singer, and musician who holds the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR, which he received in 1990. Born in Leningrad, RSFSR, USSR on December 26, 1949, he attended the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography under L.F. Makariev's course, graduating in 1972. Following his graduation, he auditioned for director Igor Petrovich Vladimirov of the Lensoviet Theater and joined the troupe, beginning his theatrical career in the extras of the play Crime and Punishment by F.M. Dostoevskiy as a student. From 1988 to 2007, he served as the artistic director of the Benefis Theater, which he created in St. Petersburg.
