Biography
Komatsu Midori was born in Tokyo in 1891. From the age of five, she studied at the Bando dance school. In 1911, she joined a newly formed female theater called the Nakasu Masagoza, making her stage debut in 1912 at the age of twenty-one. In 1913, upon the invitation of Shochiku Gomei, she participated in the Kyoto City Second Kyogoku Taishoza female theater group, continuing her activities there until 1915, when she transitioned toward action pictures. She negotiated with Kunikatsu films in 1919 and joined the company the following year with the goal of becoming a real movie star. During her time at Kunikatsu, she appeared in the films Shoshurei, Minashi Go, and Chishio no Naruto.
