She is best known for creating and starring in the E4 sitcom Chewing Gum, which ran from 2015 to 2017, and for which she won a BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy Performance. She is also known for the BBC One and HBO comedy-drama series I May Destroy You, for which she won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress in 2021.
