Mena Massoud is a Coptic Egyptian-Canadian actor. He was born in Cairo, Egypt to Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Christian parents. He has two older sisters. Massoud emigrated to Canada at a young age and grew up in Markham, Ontario. He attended St. Brother André Catholic High School and later studied acting at Ryerson University. Massoud is known for his vegan lifestyle and is the founder of the plant-based food travel show Evolving Vegan. He has been cast in various roles, including the title character in a live-action remake of Aladdin. Massoud's birthdate is September 17, 1991, however, one source lists his birth year as 1992.
