Biography
Masami Shimojō is a Japanese film and stage actor. He appeared in more than 100 films. Shimojō debuted on stage in 1936 as a member of a theater troupe. He made his film debut in 1940. After World War II, he continued to perform on stage, primarily as a member of Gekidan Mingei. Shimojō is known for playing the uncle of Torajiro Kuruma in the Otoko wa Tsurai yo series.
