Biography

Margaret Whitton was an American actress. Born on November 30, 1949, she first appeared on stage in 1973 as Peggy Whitton. She made her Broadway debut in 1982's Steaming. Whitton began to appear in films in the early 1980s, with notable roles including The Best of Times (1986), The Secret of My Success (1987), Major League (1989), and Major League II. She also appeared in The Man Without a Face (1993). Whitton returned to the stage after a seven-year experiment with film, appearing on Broadway in And the Apple Doesn't Fall, but the exact date of this production is not specified. She passed away on December 4, 2016.
