Mala Emde is a German actress born on April 22, 1996, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She is the daughter of light artist Thomas Emde and film festival director Cathrin Ehrlich, and she grew up in the Nordend district of Frankfurt am Main with an elder sister. From 2009 to 2012, she attended the Tanz, Theater and Musik studio in Frankfurt am Main. During her time there, she made her stage premiere as Aschenputtel in Janusz Glowacki's production of Die Aschenkinder and also performed as Tartalia in Friedrich Schiller's Turandot.
