Biography
Mackenyu, born Mackenyu Maeda on November 16, 1996, is a Japanese-American actor. Born in Los Angeles, California, he is the son of the actor, producer, director, and martial artist Sonny Chiba, also known as Shin'ichi Chiba. During his youth in Los Angeles, he attended Beverly Hills High School, where he participated in the school's Advanced Placement Program. His early interests were diverse, encompassing activities such as horseback riding, gymnastics, water polo, wrestling, and Kyokushin Karate, in which he placed third at the US Kyokushin Karate Nationals. Additionally, he pursued music, playing the piano from age ten and performing in his high school brass band on the saxophone. He is professionally known by the names Mackenyu Arata or simply Mackenyu.
