Biography

Lo Ta-yu, also known as Luo Dayou and Law Tai-yau, is a Taiwanese singer and songwriter born on July 20, 1954. During the 1980s, he became one of the most influential Mandopop singer-songwriters. His work is characterized by melodic lyrics and love songs, alongside witty social and political commentary. Due to the political nature of some of his compositions, certain songs were suppressed in Taiwan and Mainland China during the 1980s. Today, Lo Ta-yu is recognized as a cultural icon across Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China.
