Lizabeth Virginia Scott, born Emma Matzo, was an American film actress born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on September 29, 1922, and she died on January 31, 2015, at the age of 92. Known for her work in film noir during the 1940s and 1950s, she understudied the role of Sabina in the original Broadway and Boston stage productions of The Skin of Our Teeth. Her film credits include The Strange Love of Martha Ivers in 1946, Dead Reckoning and Desert Fury in 1947, and Too Late for Tears in 1949. Across her feature films, she served as the leading lady in the vast majority of them. In addition to stage and film, her career included appearances on radio and television.
