Liv Lisa Fries is a German actress born in Berlin, Germany, on October 31, 1990. She was raised in the Berlin borough of Pankow and studied abroad as an exchange student in Beijing. After receiving her Abitur in 2010, she enrolled in university to study philosophy and literary science before dropping out to focus on her acting career. She was inspired to become an actress at the age of fourteen after watching Leon: The Professional and being impressed by Natalie Portman's performance. Her first film role was in the 2005 film Atomised, also known as Elementarteilchen, though her role was ultimately cut from the final film. In 2017, she gained an international following starring as the female lead Charlotte Ritter in the German television series Babylon Berlin.
