Lance Bangs is an American filmmaker, documentarian, and music video director born on September 8, 1972, in Sacramento, California. He has created music videos for numerous artists and bands, including Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Green Day, the Arcade Fire, the Shins, The Thermals, Belle and Sebastian, Menomena, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, R.E.M., Mike Watt, Death Cab for Cutie, The Black Keys, Kanye West, and Pavement. He directed the David Cross film Let America Laugh. In addition to his directing work, Bangs has been heavily involved in the filming and production of the MTV television series Jackass and its subsequent movies. Other notable works associated with him include The Greatest Event in Television History, Jackass 2, and Kyle Kinane: I Liked His Old Stuff Better.
