Biography
Lakshmi Narayan, born on December 13, 1952, is an Indian actress and director predominantly active in Tamil cinema. She has appeared in over 300 films across South Indian languages and a few Bollywood productions. Her notable film credits include Julie, Jeans, Padayappa, and Hulchul. She has won a Filmfare Best Actress Award and eight Filmfare Awards South, in addition to a National Film Award. Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Lakshmi comes from a family with deep roots in the film industry; her mother Kumari Rukmini was a Tamil actress, and her father Yaragudipati Varada Rao was a prominent filmmaker and actor in South Indian cinema.
