Kyaw Hein (Burmese: ကျော်ဟိန်း) was a Burmese actor, film director and singer born on 14 July 1947 in Rangoon, Burma (now Yangon, Myanmar). He entered the film industry at age twenty with the 1968 picture Hpuza Lanzon and achieved broader fame with his fourth film, Chit Tha‑La Mon Tha‑La. Over his career he starred in and directed hundreds of films, and he was regarded as one of the most important actors in Burmese cinema. He was a five‑time recipient of the Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Award. His wife Sandar began her own acting career in 1970. Kyaw Hein died on 11 July 2020, aged 72.
