Koyuki Katō, known professionally as Koyuki, is a Japanese model and actress born on December 18, 1976, in Zama, Kanagawa, Japan. She began her modeling career in 1995 and has since appeared in numerous Japanese dramas, films, television programs, and magazine advertisements, including frequent print and television campaigns for Panasonic. She achieved widespread fame and popularity in Japan following her role in the 2003 drama Kimi wa petto, starring alongside Jun Matsumoto. Her first international film role was in the 2003 film The Last Samurai, where she portrayed Taka, the wife of a samurai killed by the character Nathan Algren, played by Tom Cruise. Prior to her international film debut, she was already well known in Japan for her extensive modeling and acting work.
