Biography

Kenichi Enomoto, known by his stage name Enoken, was a Japanese singing comedian. Born in Aoyama, Tokyo, he made his stage debut in 1922 at the age of 18 as a chorus member of the Asakusa Kinryukan Theatre. Enoken was a major innovator in Tokyo theatre before World War II and played a significant role in the revival of comedy in the postwar period.
