Kani Kusruti is an Indian actress and model born on September 12, 1985, in Trivandrum, Kerala, India. She is known primarily for her work in Malayalam films. She first gained recognition in 2009 with the film Kerala Cafe and later starred in the 2020 film Biriyaani, for which she won the Best Actress award at the Kerala State Film Awards and the Moscow International Film Festival. Her more recent work includes the 2024 independent films All We Imagine as Light and Girls Will Be Girls. She completed her theatre education at the L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Outside of her acting career, she has often criticized sexism in the Malayalam film industry and is very involved with feminist movements in India.
