Juan Calvo was a Spanish actor born on May 22, 1892, in Onteniente, Valencia, Spain. He began his career in cinema in 1934 with a small part in the sound version of Florián Rey's La hermana San Sulpicio. Calvo's filmography consists of about eighty titles. He represented theatrical plays in the national zone during part of the war and later devoted himself fully to cinema. Calvo shot in German studios for the 1938 film Suspiros de España by Benito Perojo and finished shooting the 1937 film El genio alegre by Fernando Delgado, which had been begun in 1936. He died on March 7, 1962, at the age of 69.
