Jorge Rivero, born Jorge Pous Rosas, is a Mexican actor of Spanish origin. He was born on June 15, 1938, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Active on-screen since the mid-1960s, he became known as a very handsome and muscular leading man and one of the biggest male sex symbols of the 1970s and 1980s. In his debut film, he played a masked wrestler and his face was never shown. He later starred with John Wayne in Howard Hawks's 1970 film Rio Lobo. Since the 1980s, he has worked only occasionally in Mexican films and soap operas, having lived in Southern California for more than a decade. His known acting credits include Centennial, Columbo, and El tahur.
