Turteltaub is the son of television comedy writer Saul Turteltaub. He has directed several films for the Walt Disney Studios, including 3 Ninjas, Cool Runnings, While You Were Sleeping, Phenomenon, Instinct, Disney's The Kid, National Treasure, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, and The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Turteltaub also directed the first three episodes of the CBS television series Jericho, and produced the series. He was born in New York City, New York, USA on August 8, 1963.
