John Shelton, born Edward Sheppard Price on May 18, 1915, in Los Angeles, California, was an American actor. Also known as John Price, he was the grandson of creationist George McCready Price. During his career, Shelton appeared in more than thirty films from 1936 to 1952, with known credits including We Who Are Young in 1940, Foreign Agent in 1942, The Time of Their Lives in 1946, and the drama Dr. Kildare Goes Home in 1940. Shelton was married five times. His first four marriages to Sally Sage, actress Kathryn Grayson, Marti Stanley, and Irene Winston ended in divorce and were childless. His fifth marriage was to Lorraine Ludwig, beginning on October 3, 1953, and lasting until his death on May 17, 1972, with the couple having four children together.
