Biography

John Ericson was a German-American actor and film and television star. Born Joachim Alexander Ottokar Meibes on September 25, 1926, he trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Ericson's early career included a lead role in the Broadway production of Stalag 17 in 1951. He made his film debut in Teresa, directed by Fred Zinnemann, also in 1951. Ericson went on to appear in several films, including Rhapsody, The Student Prince, and Green Fire, all released in 1954, as well as Bad Day at Black Rock in 1955.
