Jodie Marie Comer, born 11 March 1993 in Liverpool, Merseyside, England, is an English actress active in screen and stage work. She entered professional acting with an episode of The Royal Today in 2008. Comer gained early recognition for roles in the series My Mad Fat Diary (2013–2015) and Doctor Foster (2015–2017) and starred in the drama miniseries Thirteen in 2016. From 2018 to 2022 she played the sociopathic assassin Villanelle in the BBC America spy thriller Killing Eve, a performance that earned her a BAFTA Television Award and a Primetime Emmy Award.
