Biography

James Albert Varney Jr. was an American actor, voice artist, and comedian born on June 15, 1949. He died on February 10, 2000. Varney is best known for portraying the character Ernest P. Worrell, appearing in a wide range of television commercial campaigns and feature films. His other notable acting credits include the role of Jed Clampett in the 1993 film adaptation of The Beverly Hillbillies. As a voice actor, he provided the voice for Slinky Dog in the films Toy Story, released in 1995, and Toy Story 2, released in 1999. Additionally, he voiced the character Cookie Farnsworth in the 2001 film Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
